Canon Printers – Scan to Email

The Canon printers located in common areas around 1045 James St. have all been updated to support scan to email functionality. This allows for anyone in the company to scan documents and have them sent as an attachment to the selected recipient(s). Everyone with a Liberty account is pre-populated in the address book automatically, so if the recipient has a Liberty email address- they will be searchable on the printer. Follow the steps below to scan documents to your email.

1. Place the document you wish to scan on the glass scanning bed or in the document feeder on the top of the printer

2. Select Scan and Send using the touchscreen on the printer.

3. Select Address Book to search for a recipient from the corporate address book.

4. On the printer’s touchscreen, select Search by Name.

5. Using the on-screen keyboard, begin typing the name of the person you would like to receive the scanned document. You do not need to type the full name and can use a partial first/last name as the search criteria. Once complete, tap OK.

6. Select a recipient by tapping on their name from the search results. A checkmark will be placed next to the entry you selected

7. Modify any additional scan settings as needed. Once complete, click the green Start button from the printer to scan the document(s).

8. You will receive an email with a PDF attachment of the document that was scanned.
